Back from Yosemite. It was a fun trip. Met some cool new folks, talked a lot about consciousness, music, drugs, Tim Duncan's eyebrows, etc... and the best part was when we hiked up through countless rainbows, double rainbows too, getting sprayed by a waterfall that we eventually summitted. Here was the view from on high (all pics courtesy of Jenny)

There were so many rainbows! And a lot of steps to climb in the icy mist. The whitewater was beautifully 3D and so loud, fast and cold... rushing mightily over huge rocks. Erosion is a process that occurs on too large a timescale for me to truly imagine. It's good to get out of the city & get reacquainted with the sublime.

The passion caused by the great and sublime in nature . . . is Astonishment; and astonishment is that state of the soul, in which all its motions are suspended, with some degree of horror. In this case the mind is so entirely filled with its object, that it cannot entertain any other.

Finally, for the record, I am not a tree-hugger. I just got a little drunk and this tree was totally coming on to me.
