It's been horrific watching this disaster unfold in New Orleans. Corpses floating in the river. The flooding, the looting, the chaos. Impoverished city dwellers stranded without food or water. Hard to read the news these days.

Will anybody be held accountable? How many people died because help didn't come sooner? FEMA funding was gutted to pay for the war; National Guardsmen who could have assisted were busy fighting in Iraq. If this is how we react to a natural disaster how will we possibly cope with a "dirty bomb" or another terrorist attack?

In 2008, George W. Bush, Jr. will still be President. I'll be 32 years old and that fucker will still be President of the United States. The thought fills me with despair.
